SA vs IND, 2nd Test: Siraj Sizzles With 6-fer as Proteas Tumble for 55 Within First Session

Cape Town: Indian quickie Mohammed Siraj unleashed a fiery spell on Wednesday, ripping through the South African batting lineup to skittle them out for a mere 55 in just the first session of the ongoing second Test at Cape Town. Siraj, exploiting the movement offered by the tricky Newlands surface, consistently pounded a hard length, reaping rich rewards with a stunning six-wicket haul (6/15).

His devastating display left the Proteas reeling, their top order crumbling in the face of his accurate and hostile bowling. Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreyne (15) and David Bedingham (12) were the only South African batsmen to reach double figures, highlighting the dominance of the Indian bowling attack.

Siraj’s exceptional performance was ably supported by his pace bowling colleagues Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar, who bagged two wickets each to further dismantle the Proteas batting. With the hosts dismissed for a paltry score within the opening session, India find themselves in a commanding position early in the crucial Test match.
