Mortal Remains of Martyred Odia Soldier Reaches His Home Dist Bargarh

Bargarh: The mortal remains of martyred Odia soldier Nilanchal Patel, who laid down his life during patrolling in Manipur reached his native village Baghapali in Bargarh district on Monday.

Thousands of locals reached the village to pay their last respects to the martyred jawan.

He will be cremated with state honours at Baghapali village.

Patel served the Assam Rifles. He joined the armed forces in 2000.

According to reports, he was on night duty when he met with a tragic accident. He is survived by his elderly mother, wife Rajeshwari Patel, and two daughters Reena and Ranu.

His body was brought to Kolkata via a chartered plane. From there, it was brought to his birthplace in a car.
