North Korea’s Kim Jung Un on Way to Russia to Meet Putin

As per reports North Korea’s autocratic leader Kim Jong Un has departed for Russia for a summit with President Vladimir Putin, According to South Korean broadcaster YTN, Kim headed towards North Korea’s northeastern border on a special train.

The meeting between the two leaders is likely to be held as early as on Tuesday, according to the report.

Russian news agency Interfax also reported that Kim was expected to visit the Far East “in the coming days”.

If true, then this Russian trip would be Kim’s first foreign visit after the COVID-19 pandemic. His last trip abroad in 2019 was to Vladivostok in Russia for his first summit with Putin.
