Colombo: The highly anticipated Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan faced a delay due to rainy weather on the reserve day on Monday. The game had been interrupted by heavy rain on Sunday, with India at a score of 147/2 in 24.1 overs when play was halted. The batting duo of Virat Kohli and K L Rahul were at the crease with 8 and 17 runs, respectively, after impressive half-centuries by openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58).

Fans are waiting with bated breath to see the match resume today.

Incidentally, India’s opening match in the Asia Cup against Pakistan also fell victim to rain. Throughout the Sri Lanka leg of the tournament, the weather has remained a topic of discussion, with rain expected in the Sri Lankan capital for the duration of the event. The decision by the Asian Cricket Council to allocate a reserve day only for the India-Pakistan clash and the final has stirred controversy.
