Odia Film Producer Tutu Nayak Accused of Assaulting Female Journalist at Theatre; FIR Lodged

Bhubaneswar: Film Producer Sanjay Nayak, also known as Tutu, has been accused of assaulting a female journalist while she was covering an event at a theatre in the capital city today.

The victim, Debasmita Rout, who works as a reporter for ETV Bharat, has filed a complaint with the Kharvelnagar police station regarding the incident.

According to Rout’s complaint, the assault occurred around 12:50 PM at Sriya-Swati Talkies, where she was covering a story. Allegedly, Tutu Nayak slapped the journalist without any apparent reason and used abusive language. The attack happened suddenly, causing Rout to drop her equipment on the ground. As she bent down to pick up her gear, Nayak reportedly struck her on the back. This incident unfolded in front of other journalists, leaving Rout feeling insecure due to the assault.

The female journalist has requested the police to take appropriate action against the film producer in response to the incident.
