Prostitution Racket Run by 17-Yr-Old Girl Busted by Mumbai Police, 4 Women Rescued

Mumbai: A sex racket allegedly run by a 17-year-old girl at a hotel in Navi Mumbai was busted by Mumbai police on Tuesday. Four women who were forced into prostitution were rescued from the spot.

Mumbai police’s anti-human trafficking cell team raided the hotel located in the Vashi area on Tuesday.

The kingpin of the prostitution racket was found to be a teenage girl from Malad. She was giving a part of the money received from prostitution to the victims and kept the rest for herself.

The four women rescued from the hotel were aged around 20. They included one from Nepal and two from Bihar. They have been sent to a rehabilitation home.

A case has been registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code section 370 (buying or disposing of any person as slave) and provisions of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act-1956.
