Red Warning for Severe Heatwave in Odisha on Apr 26-27

Bhubaneswar: For the first time this summer, the IMD has issued a red warning for nine Odisha districts for April 26 and 15 districts on April 27, 2024.

The IMD has forecasted that the maximum temperature day temperature is likely to rise by 2-4°C during the next 3 to 4 days at several places in Odisha.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 26.04.2024)

Orange Warning: Heatwave to severe heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.04.2024)

Red Warning: Heatwave to severe heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kahahandi.

Orange Warning: Heatwave condition is very likely to prevail places over the districts of Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Deogarh, Boudh, Sonepur, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Rayagada. Khordha, Nayagarh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 27.04.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 28.04.2024)

Red Warning: Heatwave to severe heatwave condition is very likely to prevail places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Balasore Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Khordha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Boudh.

Orange Warning: Heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Puri, Nayagarh, Deogarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri.
