Rs 26 Lakh Worth Brown Sugar Seized, 6 Drug Peddlers Including a Woman Arrested in Khurda

Bhubaneswar: Around 262 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh was seized along with the arrest of six drug peddlers including a woman from the Gurujung Mahotsav grounds by the personnel of the Khurda Model police station on Tuesday.

One vehicle and five mobile phones were also seized from the possession of the arrested persons.

Acting on an intelligence report, a police team from the Khurda Model police station raided the Gurujung Mahotsav grounds and seized 26 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh from the arrested persons.

An investigation has been initiated to track down other persons involved in this drug racket. According to police sources, it is suspected that this illegal brown sugar racket is being operated by some criminals lodged inside the Khurda Sub-Jail.
