Some Opposition Parties May Form Separate Alliance If Seat Sharing Delayed: Farooq Abdullah

New Delhi: Hinting at possible cracks in the INDIA bloc, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah said, “If a seat-sharing arrangement is not finalised, then there is a threat to the alliance. It should be done in a time-bound manner. It is possible some may come together to form a separate alliance, which I feel is the biggest danger. There is still time”.

Farooq Abdullah said this while speaking to former Union Minister Kapil Sibal on his YouTube channel.

The INDIA bloc headed by Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge has not yet reached any consensus regarding seat sharing with regional allies for the coming 2024 Lok Sabha polls while only a few months were left for the Lok Sabha elections.

Abdullah added that parties should seek seats in states only where they are dominant. According to him it was important to defeat the BJP.

“That challenge is before us. If we do not leave our ego aside to join hands to think about how to save this country, I think that will be the biggest error on our part,” news agency PTI quoted him as saying in the interview.
