Terrorist Attack in Srinagar Claims Life of Non-Local, Another Injured

Srinagar: One non-local was killed and another severely injured after some unknown terrorists opened fire at them in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar on Wednesday evening, officials said.

The deceased victim has been identified as Amritpal Singh, a resident of Amritsar, while the injured individual, Rohit, also hails from the same city.

According to police reports, the assailants, armed with AK rifles, targeted Amritpal Singh at close range in the Habba Kadal locality around 7 pm. Despite immediate medical attention, Singh succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Meanwhile, Rohit sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and is currently undergoing treatment at SMHS hospital.

Kashmir Zone Police, in a statement on social media, confirmed the incident, expressing condolences for Amritpal Singh’s family and assuring ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators. Security forces have swiftly cordoned off the area as part of the ongoing operation.
