Police Bust ₹3 Crore Loan Scam, Arrest 2 for Forgery in Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: In a major crackdown on financial fraud, the Rourkela Police of Sundargarh district arrested two individuals for availing a loan of Rs 3 crore through fabricated documents. The arrests were made under the jurisdiction of Udit Nagar police station.

The detained individuals have been identified as Abhaya Bhol, residing in Chhend locality, and his accomplice Dinesh Sahu from Fertiliser Colony in the same district.

As per police sources, the accused duo orchestrated a scheme involving counterfeit signatures, documents, and photographs to unlawfully secure a substantial loan. The fictitious private firm involved approximately 84 members, all of whom submitted fraudulent documents, resulting in a collective loan amount of Rs 3.16 Crore.

Upon conducting an internal audit of the fraudulent financial entity, it was discovered that 84 members had presented manipulated documents. Following a complaint lodged by the senior manager of the firm, Arabinda Samal, an FIR was filed prompting the intervention of Udit Nagar police.
