Tata Steel Mining awarded by CII

Bhubaneswar: Tata Steel Mining Limited’s Gopalpur Ferrochrome Plant and Sukinda Chromite Mine located in Ganjam and Jajpur districts of Odisha respectively were honored at a special event organized in Bhubaneswar. It has even been awarded the prestigious State Award in the field of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for the years 2021-22.

Notably, Sukinda Chromite Mine was declared the winner in the mining category, while Gopalpur’s ferrochrome plant won in the large construction category. On this occasion, Gopalpur Ferro Alloy Factory Assistant General Manager Bathula Srinivas and Sukinda Chromite Mine Assistant General Manager Sambhunath Jha received the award from S.S. Mohanty, Vice President of CII Odisha Council.

In this regard, Pankaj Satija, managing director of Tata Steel Mining Limited, said, “Safe workplace and healthy employees are necessary for improving productivity and the welfare of the workforce.”
