Delhi Shocker: 16-Year-Old Stabs Stranger 55 Times, Slits Throat & Dances; Arrested

New Delhi: In a shocking incident in Welcome Colony, east Delhi, a 16-year-old, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, brutally stabbed a 17-year-old stranger 55 times, slit his throat, and dragged the lifeless body through the streets. The gruesome act, captured on a 2:23-minute CCTV footage, revealed the accused threatening onlookers while carrying out the crime.

The assailant had approached the victim, whom he did not know, for money to buy biryani. When the victim refused, a verbal altercation ensued, escalating into a physical scuffle. The accused, overpowering the 17-year-old, rendered him unconscious and proceeded to stab him multiple times with a mini knife.

The horrific scene unfolded at around 11.15 PM on Tuesday, with the accused not only stabbing the victim but also dancing during the act. The assailant, reportedly intoxicated, threatened anyone who attempted to intervene.

After the brutal assault, the accused dragged the lifeless body through a narrow bylane, stole Rs 350 from the victim, and fled the scene. The victim, rushed to the hospital, succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Law enforcement swiftly apprehended the accused on Wednesday morning, who later confessed to the crime. The weapon used in the murder has been recovered, and investigators are determining its source.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey emphasized the role of CCTV footage in identifying and promptly arresting the accused. The shocking incident has raised concerns about the safety of residents in the area.
