Will Dhoom & YRF Spy Universe Merge? Know what the Plan is

Mumbai: Rumours about the merger of the Dhoom franchise and YRF Spy Universe is rife on social media as Yash Raj Films is enjoying the overwhelming success of Pathaan. But according to reports such rumours have been refuted by a source close to the production house. Quoting this source, a news agency has reported that Aditya Chopra wants to grow both successful franchises separately and hence he won’t merge the two. Aditya Chopra will want to grow them separately. Super spies are part of the YRF Spy Universe, while Dhoom is the world of super thieves. To protect the sanctity of these two separate cine-universes, the production house will not want to overlap the characters of these two universes.

Earlier, a report by Pinkvilla claimed that Aditya Chopra is planning to integrate Abhishek Bachchan’s ACP Jai Dixit, the cop in the Dhoom series, into his spy universe along with Pathaan, Tiger, and Kabir. But it seems Jai Dixit of Dhoom will have his own villains and friends in the future rather than mixing up with the ones of YRF Spy Universe.

The first movie of the Dhoom series was released in 2004. Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, Esha Deol, and Rimi Sen played important parts in the film. Two more films were released in this series with Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra’s characters remaining constant. Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan played the roles of an antagonist in Dhoom 2 and 3 respectively.
