9 Dead & 15 Wounded In K’taka Tempo-Milk Van Head-On Collision

Hassan: A Tempo traveller vehicle collided head-on with a KMF milk vehicle in the Arsikere taluka, on Sunday while returning home after visiting the Dharmasthala, Subramanya, and Hasanamba temples, resulting in at least 9 fatalities and 10 injuries.

According to reports, a passenger car’s tempo was struck by a Karnataka Transport bus as it was travelling in the direction of Shivamogga. Due to this incident, the tempo driver lost control of the vehicle, and it crashed with a milk truck that was approaching from the opposite side. The pace was broken in this circumstance on both sides, and the tragic accident resulted in the deaths of 9 persons.

Expressing grief over the incident, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai tweeted, “It is extremely sad that 9 people have died in a terrible road accident in Araseikere of Hassan district yesterday. May the departed souls rest in peace. Adequate compensation will be given to the families of the deceased and arrangements will be made for proper treatment of the injured.”

Six people reportedly passed away immediately, while three others died en route to the hospital. The fact that 4 of the 9 fatalities were children is the worst part. They were all coming home after visiting religious sites.

Ten more people who were seriously hurt in this accident are receiving medical care at a hospital in Hassan. In addition, key administration officials arrived at the scene and pledged to support the victims in any way they could.
