Guns, Drugs, Cash Worth ₹44 Lakh Seized in BSF-NCB Joint Operation Near B’Desh Border

Coochbehar: In a successful joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF), Guwahati Frontier, collaborated with the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) to seize illegal arms, narcotics, and cash. Acting on credible information, the operation was carried out in a bordering village within West Bengal’s Coochbehar district.

Troops from the 75 BSF battalions teamed up with NCB officials from the Kolkata Zone HQ to execute the operation. The targeted search yielded significant results. A country-made pistol along with live rounds, Yaba tablets valued at ₹11 lakh, prohibited cough syrup worth ₹18,680, and a substantial cash sum of ₹43.76 lakh were discovered in a residence near the Indo-Bangladesh border.

All confiscated items, including arms, drugs, and cash, have been handed over to the NCB for appropriate legal measures. The collaborative effort between BSF and NCB underscores their commitment to maintaining border security and combating illegal activities.
