Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Compares PM Modi With Mahatma Gandhi, Sparks Political Firestorm

Mumbai: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar sparked controversy by comparing Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Mahatma Gandhi during an event in Mumbai, drawing sharp criticism from the Congress.

Addressing a gathering commemorating the birth anniversary of Jain mystic Shrimad Rajchandra, Dhankhar referred to Gandhi as the ‘mahapurush’ of the last century and Modi as the ‘yugpurush’ of this century.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore denounced the Vice President’s remarks, stating, “He has crossed all limits of sycophancy,” and emphasizing the inappropriateness of comparing Modi to Mahatma Gandhi.
