Guwahati Refinery Mishap: 1 Worker Killed, Another Severely Injured in Project Site Accident

Guwahati: A labourer lost his life while another sustained critical injuries at Guwahati Refinery on Sunday. The unfortunate accident occurred on Saturday at a project site situated in the Noonmati area of the city. According to an official statement, both workers were involved in shoring activities when a sudden collapse of land heaps resulted in them being buried underneath.

Following the incident, the injured workers were promptly transported to a well-equipped multi-speciality hospital in Guwahati for urgent medical attention. Regrettably, Abdul Karim, one of the workers, could not survive his injuries and tragically passed away. On the other hand, Abdul Malik, the other worker involved, is currently receiving necessary medical treatment.

In response to the incident, the management at Guwahati Refinery has taken immediate action by forming a high-powered committee to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. Concurrently, the refinery has also initiated measures to extend support and assistance to the grieving family.
