Karnataka Drunkard Drinks Acid in Inebriated State, Dies

Bengaluru: A drunkard died after accidentally consuming acid in an inebriated state in the Chamarajnagar district of Karnataka. The deceased identified as Siddaraju (40) of Mulluru village of Kollegal taluk drank acid used for toilet cleaning mistaking it for drinking water on Sunday.

As he was in an inebriated state, he could not sense the difference between water and acid.

After consuming the acid, the drunkard realized his lethal mistake and called for help. His family members found him writhing in pain and they rushed him to a hospital along with the villagers.

But the internal injuries caused by the acid were too serious. Siddaraju succumbed to internal injuries at the hospital on Monday.

An investigation is underway by the local police.
