Historic Day for Ayodhya as PM Modi Unveils Revamped Railway Station & Grand Airport

Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a warm welcome in Ayodhya on Saturday as he inaugurated the renovated Ayodhya Dham Railway Station and the new Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. During a roadshow to the railway station, more than 1,400 performers showcased folk art and cultural programs along the route, Ram Path.

The Prime Minister, accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, inaugurated the Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station, completed at a cost of over Rs 240 crore. The three-story building boasts features such as lifts, escalators, food plazas, shops, cloak rooms, and waiting halls.

Following the railway station inauguration, PM Modi also inaugurated the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, developed by the Airports Authority of India at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore. The terminal, covering 6500 sqm, has a temple-inspired facade depicting the design of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir. Local art, paintings, and murals illustrating the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram adorn the interiors.

The Prime Minister participated in a public event, inaugurating development projects worth over Rs 15,700 crore, including Rs 11,100 crore for Ayodhya’s development and surrounding areas, and Rs 4,600 crore for projects across Uttar Pradesh.

PM Modi’s visit precedes the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22. A roadshow from the airport to the railway station marked his arrival, where he greeted the public and witnessed cultural performances. In preparation for the ceremony, Ayodhya is adorned with ‘Surya Stambhs’ and interpretation walls along prominent routes, depicting Lord Ram’s life.
