Defence Min Rajnath Singh Meets Families Of 3 Civilians Killed in J&K’s Poonch, Vows Justice

Rajouri: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is currently on a visit to Jammu and Kashmir to assess the security situation in the region. During his visit, he took the opportunity to meet with the families of three civilians who were found dead under mysterious circumstances on December 22 in the Poonch district. This incident occurred a day after a terrorist ambush resulted in the tragic loss of four Army jawans in the same area.

In response to the civilian deaths, the Army has initiated an investigation, and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Pande also visited Poonch to personally evaluate the on-ground situation. A security review meeting was convened to address the aftermath of the deadly terrorist attack.

Accompanied by Army Chief General Manoj Pande and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Rajouri district, where he extended his condolences to the grieving families. During his visit, he made a stop at the Government Medical College (GMC) to inquire about the health of civilians who were injured in the incidents.

Former MLC Shahnaz Ganai, present at the meeting at Dak Bungalow, conveyed that the defence minister interacted with the families and members of the civil society, assuring them of decisive action against those found guilty after a thorough inquiry into the incidents.
