2 More Arrested by ED in Mahadev Betting App Case

Raipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested two more persons in the Mahadev betting app case. It is alleged that large scale money laundering and illicit activities were associated with the app.

Following their arrests on Sunday, Suraj Chokhani, the Managing Director of Ability Games Ltd Company, and Girish Talreja, known to be suspected key players in the case, were remanded to one-day judicial custody by a Raipur Court.

Earlier Nitish Diwan was arrested in the same money laundering case.

According to sources, statements of Chokhani and Talreja were recorded to validate the claims made by Diwan. Both were found to be making statements contradictory to the evidence with the ED, so they were arrested. The ED is expected to ask court for a 14-day custodial remand of these two.”

Suraj Chokhani, the Managing Director of Ability Games Ltd Company, is said to be a close associate of Tibrewal, a hawala operator.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) last week conducted raids at more than 15 locations across the country as part of its ongoing money laundering investigation into the Mahadev online betting and gaming app case.

Several celebrities and Bollywood actors have also been summoned by the Ed for questioning regarding their connections with the online betting platform. The ED claims that the illicit funds generated by the app were used for bribing politicians and bureaucrats.
