25 injured as bus overturns in Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: As many as 25 passengers were injured while two among them were critically injured after a bus overturned on national highway 18 near Krushnachandrapur late last night.

According to sources, the bus was en route to Bhubaneswar from Rairangpur when the accident took place on the Baripada-Betanati road.

The private-run bus, carrying passengers, was heading to Bhubaneswar from Rairangpur. The driver lost control of the wheels near Krushnachandrapur following which the vehicle overturned on the NH, leaving at least 25 people injured.

On being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the injured people with the help of locals.

The injured were rushed to the PRM Medical College & Hospital in Bhubaneswar. Two of them, who were reportedly critical, were shifted to SCB Medical in Cuttack.

Meanwhile, local police registered a case in this connection and initiated a probe into the matter.
