4 Dead Including Policeman and Teenager in Manipur in Past 24 Hrs

Imphal: At least four, including a policeman and a teenage boy, were shot dead and several others were injured in separate incidents of violence in border areas between Bishnupur and Churachandpur district of Manipur in the past 24 hours, reported NDTV quoting sources in the police.

The policeman was killed in an exchange of fire with suspected militants on Friday evening. Three other deaths were reported on Saturday morning following gunfight between two warring groups.

The border areas between these two districts have witnessed several incidents of killings, violence, and arson.

Miscreants from both sides indulged in firing at each other from stand-off ranges from the villages of Kangvai, Songdo, and Awang Lekhai. The firing resulted in three fatalities besides injuries to some others.
