Seven persons died and at least six others were seriously injured when a bomb hit a bus carrying government employees in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of Afghanistan’s Balkh province, on Tuesday.
Quoting an Afghan spokesman, the Xinhua news agency reported, it was a roadside bomb that struck the bus of the employees of the Petroleum Directorate of Hiratan border town at around 7.30 am in Police District 3 of Mazar-i-Sharif city.
The employees were on their way to their work place when the blast occurred. Although it seemed to be a terrorist attack, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Eyewitnesses claim that the number of casualties may be higher than reported.
