74-year-old woman allegedly kills husband and consumes poison

Uttar Pradesh: Shocking news has come to light, where a 74-year-old woman allegedly killed her 76-year-old husband in Uttar Pradesh’s Ambedkar Nagar district and later tried to commit suicide by consuming poison.

The woman was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The dispute between the couple started when Ram Padarath (the victim) allegedly transferred all his wealth to their daughter-in-law instead of his son.

“The accused Shanti Devi had an argument with her husband Ram Padarath over transferring all his wealth to their daughter-in-law Poonam. However, later in the evening the couple again had a fight and Shanti Devi picked up an axe and killed her husband,” Ambedkar Nagar Superintendent of Police (SP), Ajit Sinha said.

The SP also added that Ram Padarath was a retired government teacher from 2006. Thereafter, he handed all his money to his daughter-in-law and Shanti Devi was left with nothing. The accused has been arrested.
