Fire Breaks Out at Balasore Hospital Chemo Ward, No Casualties Reported

Balasore: Panic ensued among patients and their families when a fire erupted at Fakir Mohan (FM) Medical College & Hospital (MCH) in Balasore district today. The incident occurred in the hospital’s chemo ward and was attributed to a short circuit in an air conditioner.

As the smoke rapidly filled the ward, patients and their attendants hurriedly evacuated the hospital premises. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties resulting from the incident.

According to initial reports, the fire originated in an air conditioning compressor located outside the chemo ward of FM Medical College earlier this morning.

The quick response of hospital staff and emergency services likely prevented a more severe outcome. Authorities are now investigating the incident to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the short circuit.
