Actor Sidhant Mohapatra Helps Accident Victim Reach Hospital, Receives Praise From STA

Bhubaneswar: Renowned Odia actor and former MP, Sidhant Mohapatra, has earned widespread praise for his timely intervention in saving the life of an accident victim. The incident occurred near Pahala in Bhubaneswar, where the critically injured victim was in excruciating pain. Mohapatra, who happened to be passing by, immediately rushed to the victim’s aid, admitting him to a private hospital and ensuring he received the necessary treatment.

Displaying his compassion, Mohapatra stayed with the victim until his family members arrived, offering support and reassurance. The actor’s act of kindness has resonated with people, and social media has been flooded with emotional responses to the visuals of him assisting at the accident site.

The State Transport Authority (STA) also acknowledged Mohapatra’s altruistic gesture, highlighting the importance of Good Samaritans like him as role models. The STA tweeted, “Good Samaritans like Shri Sidhant Mohapatra are a source of inspiration for all of us. Thank you for being a role model. Your timely assistance during the #Goldenhour (first hour) of #roadaccident can save lives. Protection of a #GoodSamaritan is guaranteed by law.”

Recalling the incident, Mohapatra shared that he learned about the accident while returning to Bhubaneswar from Cuttack. An over-speeding Bolero had collided with a biker, dragging him along the National Highway. Undeterred by the situation, Mohapatra and his team sprang into action, calling for an ambulance and providing immediate aid to control the bleeding.

Due to a slight delay in the ambulance’s arrival, Mohapatra approached a PCR van to transport the injured victim to the hospital. Fortunately, the ambulance arrived just in time, and they swiftly transferred the victim for treatment. The actor had already coordinated with the hospital to ensure necessary arrangements were made.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Mohapatra also contacted the Commissioner for assistance, resulting in a PCR van escorting them safely to the hospital. Currently, the victim has been shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, and is reported to be out of danger. Mohapatra expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the collective effort in saving the victim’s life.
