Balasore Train Accident: GM of South Eastern Railway Transferred

Bhubaneswar: As an after-effect of the Bahanaga triple train accident, the government transferred South Eastern Railway’s General Manager Archana Joshi on Friday. This transfer order comes almost a month after the horrific train accident that claimed 293 lives.

Joshi was transferred as General Manager at Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Karnataka.

Anil Kumar Mishra, IRSSE, was appointed as the new General Manager of South Eastern Railway in place of Joshi.

The order read, “The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) for appointment of officers in Level-16 of IRMS from the date of assumption of charge of the respective post on or after July 1, 2023.”

The ACC also appointed Milind K. Deouskar, an IRSS officer, as Secretary in the Railway Board.

On June 2, Coromandel Express, Howrah-SMVT Superfast Express and a goods train collided near the Bahanaga railway station in Balasore, which killed 293 passengers.
