Barking of a Dog causes Violent Clash; Woman Killed, 5 Injured

Lucknow: A 50-year-old was killed and five others of her family were injured in a group clash that erupted over the barking of a stray dog in a village under Bairiya police station near Balia in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday night.

Police have arrested two persons in relation to this case. The search is on to nab another person involved in this killing.

According to sources, two neighbouring families had started a violent clash following arguments over the barking of a dog in the village. Fifty-year-old Lal Muni and five others were injured in this group clash. According to police, the stray dog was being fed regularly by the accused family. On Tuesday night this stray dog started barking at Lal Muni. When the woman complained about it to the accused family, they allegedly abused her.

This resulted in a violent tussle between the neighbours. The accused family attacked Lal Muni and her family members with lathis. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where Muni was declared dead by doctors.
