Family’s Selfie with Rs 500 Bundles Puts UP Cop in Soup

Lucknow: Selfie of the wife and sons of a UP police official in Unnao with stacks of Rs 500 notes resulted in his immediate transfer. UP police have also launched an investigation against the concerned police officer when the pictures went viral on social media.

This police officer is Ramesh Chandra Sahani, posted as a station in charge.

In the selfies that went viral on social media, the wife and two sons of the police officer are seen to be posing on the bed with bundles of Rs 500 notes worth around 14 lakh rupees.

UP police top brass immediately ordered an investigation into the matter. Ramesh Chandra Sahani was transferred to police lines.

But Ramesh Chandra Sahani claimed that the photographs were taken on November 14, 2021, when he sold a family property.
