Woman Cop’s Attacker on Train Shot Dead in Encounter in Ayodhya

Lucknow: The prime accused involved in the lethal attack on a female constable on board the Saryu Express train was shot dead in an encounter in Ayodhya of Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Two other accused were injured in the exchange of fire with the police.

The deceased was identified as Anish, the prime accused in the case of the attack on a women constable on board the Saryu Express. He was lethally injured in an encounter with police in Pura Kalandar of Ayodhya. He later succumbed to injuries. His two associates Azad and Vishambhar Dayal Dubey were injured and arrested.

On August 30, the injured woman constable was found in a pool of blood inside a compartment of the Saryu Express.

The Special Task Force (STF) along with local police and GRP initiated an investigation to identify and arrest the accused when the Allahabad High Court took suo motu cognisance of the case.
