BJP Leader Hacked to Death in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) panchayat president and State Schedule Castes (SC) wing functionary named BBGT Shankar was hacked to death at Nazarathpettai in Tamil Nadu’s Poonamallee.

He was murdered on Thursday night. Unknown assailants stopped his vehicle while he was returning home after attending a marriage function. At first the attackers hurled crude bombs at him. Shankar tried to escape from the spot. But he was tracked down and hacked to death by the unidentified attackers.

Tamil Nadu police seized his body and sent it for autopsy.

Tamil Nadu state president of the BJP, Annamalai condemned the murder of the BJP functionary and said criminal activities were on the rise during DMK rule.
