Elephant Carcass Found In Tangi Forest, Electrocution Death Suspected

Bhubaneswar: The body of a dead elephant was found at Damanbhuin Bhandarijhar under the Tangi forest range in Khurda district on Friday.

Though the exact cause of its death has not been ascertained, it is suspected that the pachyderm may have died due to electrocution.

The body of a male elephant named Ramu, aged between 35-40 years, was found near a trench being dug by the forest department in the Chunakoli area in Chandaka forest on Monday on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The elephant allegedly died of electrocution.
