Fugitive Amritpal Singh’s Bodyguard Arrested; Sent to Dibrugarh Jail in Assam

Chandigarh: Amritsar rural police arrested a bodyguard of fugitive Khalistani preacher Amritpal Singh. The arrested person was identified as Varinder Singh alias Fauji of Tarn Taran.

National Security Act was invoked against him and he was transported to Dibrugarh jail in Assam, reported the Tribune.

Fauji is a retired army constable. He was one of the bodyguards of Amritpal Singh. He was among the 10 gunmen who accompanied Amritpal Singh round the clock.

Fauji had an arms license issued from Jammu and Kashmir. His arms license was canceled following the Ajnala clash on February 23. On that day Amritpal Singh and his armed supporters stormed into the Ajnala police station to get their supporter Lovepreet Toofan released from Amritsar central jail.
