Government Official Killed While Clicking Selfie In Kedarnath

Kedarnath: An Uttarakhand state government official was killed while attempting to take a selfie in front of a chopper in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand on Sunday.

The official was identified as Jitendra Kumar Saini. He was the financial controller for the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority.

Saini walked right up to the helicopter’s tail rotor blade while attempting to take a selfie.

This comes a day after the Char Dham yatra began on Akshay Tritiya with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri pilgrim gateways in the Uttarkashi area.

There are already over 16 lakh registered pilgrims, and the number is growing. Meanwhile, Kedarnath will open on April 25 and Badrinath on April 27, respectively.
