Has Fugitive Amritpal Returned to Punjab? Punjab Police Conduct Raids Hoshiarpur

Amritsar: Rumours are on that fugitive pro-Khalistan activist Amritpal Singh may have dodged the police again to hide in Punjab. A massive search operation was launched in Hoshiarpur after some suspects abandoned a car when police chased them late on Tuesday night.

A team of the Punjab Police chased a suspicious Innova car at Marnaian village on a suspicion that pro-Khalistan activist Amritpal Singh and his associate Papalpreet, who have been on a run since March 19, along with two others were traveling in it from an area near Phagwara. Police suspected that Amritpal was on his way from Delhi with three others in a car to record an interview to a TV channel last night.

Personnel of Punjab police are keeping mum over it. A video dated March 21 showed Amritpal and Papalpreet at Laxminagar village of Hoshiarpur.

A search operation has been launched in and around Hoshiarpur’s villages with checkposts and barricades raised on the roads to nab the suspects.

Amritpal Singh remains untraceable since a police crackdown against him and members of his pro-Khalistan ‘Waris Punjab De’ outfit on March 18. The fugitive escaped the police net in Jalandhar district on March 18, switching vehicles and changing appearances.
