Kanwariya Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances On Temple Premises In Deogarh

Deogarh: A kanwariya was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the premises of a temple before pouring holy water on Shivling on the first Somvar (Monday) of the auspicious Shravan month here in the district.

The deceased devotee has been identified as Bibhuti Behera, a resident of Deojharan village under Kundheigola police limits in Deogarh district.

According to reports, Bibhuti had gone to Deogarh along with 50 persons from his village on Sunday to perform the ‘Jala Lagi’ ritual at the Jhadeswar temple on the first Shravan Somvar today morning. Yesterday evening, the Kanwarias collected the holy water from the nearest waterbody and preserved it on the premises of the temple for worshipping Lord Shiva the next morning.

They all went to sleep on the temple premises after 11 pm. But Bibhuti didn’t wake up when his friends called him for Jalabhisheka at 3 am. He was soon rushed to the Deogarh District Headquarters Hospital. however, the doctors declared him dead.

On being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation in this regard.
