Man Commits Suicide After Killing Wife In Sundargarh

Sundargarh: A man allegedly committed suicide after killing his wife over a family feud at Damkuda village under Talasara police station limits in Sundargarh district on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as Hemant Jaksena of Damkuda village.

According to reports, Hemant left his village for Goa several years ago. Hemant’s wife lived with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Hemant returned home before the Holi festival and lived separately with his wife.

On Tuesday, an altercation ensued between Hemant and his wife. Irked over the fight, Hemant allegedly killed his wife by suffocating her with a pillow when she was asleep and committed suicide by hanging from the roof of his room.

On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway in this regard.
