Man Murders Live-In Partner & Stuffs Her Body in Mattress in Maharashtra

Mumbai: A 27-year-old man was arrested in Maharashtra on Tuesday on charges of murder of his 35-year-old live-in partner at their residence in Nalasopara in Palghar district.

According to police sources, the accused Hardik Shah and his deceased live-in partner Megha were staying in a rented apartment claiming that they were married.

The decomposed body of Megha was recovered from a flat in the Vijay Nagar area of Nalasopara, when neighbours complained to police about extremely foul smell coming from the victim’s rented house.

The police team found the body of the victim stuffed in a mattress. It was suspected that she was killed around a week back. The accused live-in partner Hardik Shah was arrested while he was trying to escape.

Initial investigation hinted that the live-in partners were having frequent quarrels as Hardik was jobless. It is suspected that he killed Megha during a quarrel.

The accused had informed his sister about the murder he committed. As part of his plan to escape, he had sold furniture in the flat.
