Maoist IED Blast Kills Jawan in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

Raipur: Vijay Yadav, an assistant platoon commander of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) was martyred in the blast of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Monday.

According to police sources, this IED blast occurred at around 7.40 am between Etepal and Timenar villages under Mirtur police station limits. The targeted CAF teams were involved in an area domination operation to provide security for road construction work in the area. Separate teams of CAF had set out from its Etepal and Timenar camps

Assistant Platoon Commander Vijay Yadav, who was leading one team, unknowingly stepped on a pressure-activated IED that triggered the explosion causing his death. Martyred Yadav was a resident of Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh.
