Poacher Injured by Own Gun’s Accidental Fire in Nayagarh

Bhubaneswar: A poacher was injured in the Nayagarh district of Odisha when his gun went off accidentally in the wee hours of Monday.

The poacher injured by his own bullet was identified as Sanyasi Jani. According to forest officials, the accidental firing occurred in a forest near the Nayagarh-Boudh border.

It is alleged that Jani was searching for wild animals when he slipped and fell. The gun held by him went off and the bullet pierced his buttock.

Locals rescued Jani and admitted him to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dasapalla. He was later shifted to a hospital at Nayagarh as his condition deteriorated.
