Police Constable Shoots Fellow Cop Dead in Assam

Guwahati: A police constable allegedly shot dead a colleague of his department in Assam’s Charaideo area. The accused constable Dipak Kakati was arrested by Assam police on Tuesday.

The deceased was Gakul Basumatary. Dipak allegedly shot at Gakul with his service revolver. The whole incident occurred at the Charaideo police station.

Policemen present at the spot immediately transported Gakul to a nearby hospital. But the victim could not be saved. Apart from arresting the killer police constable Dipak, the gun used by him has also been seized.

An investigation is on to find out the real reason behind this shooting.
