Porn Entanglement: Anticipatory bail to Raj Kundra, Poonam Pandey, Sherlyn Chopra

New Delhi: Bollywood actors Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey, and businessman Raj Kundra and others were granted anticipatory bail by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, in a case related to the alleged distribution of pornographic videos, pending against them.

A bench comprising Justices K.M. Joseph and B.V. Nagarathna granted the pre-arrest bail to them.

R. Basant, a senior advocate representing one of the petitioners, claimed in the court that the accused were cooperating with the police in the investigation.

The bench directed Kundra and others accused of the case to cooperate in the police investigation.

Kundra claimed that he was not connected to the content creation, publication or transmission of alleged illegal videos.

Kundra, who is also the husband of cine star Shilpa Shetty, was arrested by the Mumbai Police in July 2021. He is also alleged to have distributed porn films through an app.

A case was filed against Kundra under sections of the Indian Penal Code, Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act, and the Information Technology Act for allegedly distributing sexually explicit videos.
