2022-23 Ranji Trophy Season Begins Today

The premier Indian red-ball domestic tournament, the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy will be played from December 13, 2022 to February 20, 2023. 38 teams will be taking part in the competition. Madhya Pradesh will enter the tournament as the defending champions.

There will be two winners announced for this Ranji Trophy season. 32 teams will be divided into five Elite groups each, while six teams have been placed in a separate Plate Group. There will be one winner for the Elite Group, and another one for the Plate Group.

The six teams that have been placed in the Plate Group are Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Bihar.

Tamil Nadu have been placed in Elite Group B alongside Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Assam, and Saurashtra. Tamil Nadu announced their squad for the first three matches of the season. The side will be led by Baba Indrajith, while R Sai Kishore will be his deputy.

The Super Kings who will be in action are Ruturaj Gaikwad (Maharashtra), Mukesh Choudhary (Maharashtra), Simarjeet Singh (Delhi), Tushar Deshpande (Mumbai), Rajvardhan Hangargekar (Maharashtra), and Subhranshu Senapati (Odisha).
