Wild Elephant Herds Panic Human Habitats in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A wild elephant herd strayed out of the jungle to move near human habitats at Kuspangi Dihasahi near National Highway 55 in the Athagarh area. This elephant herd is in the area since Thursday night. The presence of these wild pachyderms is causing panic in the minds of passengers traveling on this stretch of the national highway.

Personnel of Dalijoda and Khuntuni forest ranges are trying hard to drive away the wild jumbos from the proximity of human habitats into the jungle.

Meanwhile, another wild elephant herd crossed the Baitarani river to roam near the Boring rural forest under the Thakurmunda range of the Karanjia forest division. These elephants destroyed standing paddy crops.
