Women’s T20 World Cup: India to Take on Ireland in South Africa Today

Gqeberha (South Africa): India will take on Ireland in their last Group 2 match of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 at St George’s Park, Gqeberha this evening.

In the last match against England, England beat India by 11 runs at St George’s Park in Gqeberha, South Africa in their Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 match.

Chasing the target of 152 runs, India managed to score only 140 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.

Smriti Mandhana scored the highest 52 runs for India while Sarah Glenn took two wickets for England. Mandhana’s 52 from 41 was the top score in the reply, with Richa Ghosh finishing unbeaten on 47* from 34. But only one other Indian batter reached double figures as they fell 11 runs short of the target.

Therefore, The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will now need not only a win against Ireland in its last group match but also a big one to have any chance of filling up the remaining semifinal spot from Group 2.
