22 Women Arrested In Nuapada For Attacking Cops

Nuapada: As many as 22 women among 26 persons were arrested in connection with the attack on police personnel at Jonk police station in Nuapada district on Monday.

Such an action of police came after several women attacked a police team, injuring one of them severely, while the latter had gone to nab an accused against whom a non-bailable warrant had been issued.

According to information, the incident took place on Sunday at Jonk police station area where IIC Kailash Sethi was injured in the incident.

A total of nine police personnel were attacked by supporters of the accused.

As tension ran high, two platoons of police force have been deployed at the incident site.

However, police have been able to arrest the accused person, Kasim Ali, against whom criminal cases are pending at different police stations.
