Dhenkanal Medicine Salesman Robbed of ₹2 Lakh at Gunpoint: Hunt for 4 Miscreants On

Dhenkanal: In a daring incident in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Tuesday, four assailants robbed a medicine salesman of over Rs 2 lakh at gunpoint. The victim, identified as Prakash Behera, was targeted while returning from collecting payments from various medical stores in Pandua, Saanda, Parjang, Samal, and the NTPC staff colony.

As Behera was making a delivery near the community health centre at Muktapasi under the jurisdiction of the Kamakshyanagar police station, two miscreants on a motorcycle intercepted him. Attempting to snatch his money bag, Behera resisted, prompting the assailants to brandish a gun and threaten his life.

Fearing for his safety, Behera handed over the money bag to the two culprits, who quickly fled the scene on the National Highway towards Barihapur. Two accomplices on another bike were reportedly waiting for them.

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Kamakshyanagar police station arrived at the spot and initiated an investigation. Locals mentioned no apparent altercation or exchange of words between the miscreants and the medicine salesman.

In response to Behera’s complaint, the police have registered a case and are actively searching for the culprits. The motive behind the crime remains under investigation.
