Elderly Couple Found Dead in Canal in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: An elderly couple was found deceased in a canal in Gundichapada, Odisha on Thursday morning. The couple has been identified as Dushashan Sahu (74), a retired havaldar, and his wife Padmavati (72) from Panchabati village.

According to Dhenkanal Sadar SDPO Bibhuti Bhushan Mahapatra, the couple had gone missing on Wednesday evening. Despite efforts by their family to locate them, they remained untraceable until Wednesday afternoon when Dushashan’s body was discovered floating in the canal. His body was retrieved and sent for an autopsy.

On Thursday morning, local residents discovered Padmavati’s body. The police have sent her body for a post-mortem examination and have initiated investigations into these unnatural deaths. While the exact cause of their demise remains unknown, authorities are actively looking into the matter.
